Fluorescent Coral

As a young child, I was fascinated with light and stuff that glowed. That led to fluorescence. And in Wyoming that meant collecting fluorescent rocks. Since then, I’ve collected a bunch of them.

But things have changed. I’m no longer in Wyoming. I’m in south Florida where rocks, let along fluorescent rocks, are essentially non-existent. So, what’s a fluorescent collector like me going to do?

Go for living coral! Their fluorescence rivals anything I’ve seen with minerals.

Collecting and maintaining a living coral collection is way beyond high maintenance. But photographing them – perfect!
